From a diverse background of builders, remodelers, designers, investors, and even Realtors, we all came together at Container Places through our love of designing and building something great that could better serve the needs of our community and other communities around the world.
Finding a need, filling a need – while looking for new business possibilities is always part of the work one does in a company, this opportunity almost came looking for us! 1.6 billion people in the world are living without adequate housing. For most Americans 1/3 to 1/2 of their income is dedicated to the roof over their heads; this translates to 15 years of working over your lifetime just to pay for it, and because of it 76% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. Making affordable housing that can be built quicker than traditional methods, fit onto nearly any space – even the ones a more traditional building might not fit on to – be significantly more efficient than what the market currently offers, and have lower maintenance needs than a “bricks and sticks” built product helps fill many of the needs we see in both residential and commercial building today.
25+ years in real estate, rehabbing and investing – While container construction building has been written about since the sixties, the first structures didn’t start appearing until the mid-eighties. Recent economic and environmental changes and challenges have pushed container container building to the foreground in the past decade, as containers gained popularity as environmentally responsible building blocks, that could provide a good base for affordable, durable, and sustainable buildings. While Container Places is a relatively recent entry into the container building arena, our staff and crews have been in the real estate and building business for 25+ years. We have made the mistakes, learned the lessons, and continue to partner with the best in the business to ensure that our clients get the finest product we can provide.
